1887
1887 – The courage to change destinies
The Benedetti and Tecchio families left an Italy devastated by poverty in search of a livelihood. They immigrated to Brazil and settled where Bentec is today, in Bento Gonçalves. They brought dreams and the strength of work. They cultivated vineyards, unity, respect, and the courage to undertake, to transform the land and labor into a legacy. Their strong roots remain alive, intertwined.
1976
Bentec is born
On March 1, 1976, Bentec began its activities manufacturing cement sinks coated with formica, an innovative product for the time. It was the beginning of a story that would unite family tradition, innovation, and hard work. The origin came from the wine crisis in the country (excess production and low sales), but the entrepreneurial spirit found new paths. Bentec was born.
1977
First furniture moves
Attentive listening to the Market, Bentec expanded its portfolio with kitchen cabinets and counters. This was the beginning of personalizing environments, with a focus on functionality and aesthetics. The production of semi-component kitchens in cherry wood veneer also began, a milestone that anticipated the brand's view of design as an experience.
1980
New formats, new stories
The production of semi-modular kitchens marked another step toward customization. The company grew by up to 15% per year, driven by confidence in the future and the strength of the team. While Brazil was trading the countryside for the city, Bentec opened its doors to many of those farmers, who found new possibilities for life here. It was a time of transformation in the country, in homes, and within the company.
1985
The strength of the new era
In a scenario of optimism and industrial growth in Brazil, Bentec took a decisive step: investing in its first machinery, combining innovation with the care of handmade products. The arrival of equipment from Italy marked the beginning of the professionalization of processes, preparing the brand for new heights, always with its feet firmly in your essence.
1986
New materials, new paths
Bentec began producing stainless steel sinks, expanding its portfolio with solutions aligned with the demand of the time. Kitchen utensils also emerged from the use of leftovers, a punctual movement that revealed the brand's creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
1990
Amid instability, the strength to continue
The country was facing 80% inflation and the impacts of government changes. Trade conflicts marked the daily life of industries. Even so, Bentec continued producing modular kitchens, driven by the determination not to stop. In turbulent times, resistance was also an act of courage and Bentec resisted, with its feet in the present and its eyes on the future.
2000
Design gains scales and crosses borders
With the evolution of processes, Bentec began producing custom-made furniture. The beginning of the 2000s also marked participation in national and international fairs, projecting the brand to new markets and perspectives. It was at this time that the first exclusive stores appeared, bringing Bentec even closer to people and strengthening the commitment to personalized environments and unique shopping experiences.
2005
Three decades shaping stories
Bentec celebrated 30 years of history with a solid structure, an expanded team and an increasingly consistent brand positioning. With 238 collaborators and modern machinery, Bentec consolidated its presence in the national market. The manufacturing plant is equipped with cutting-edge technology and operates within the most advanced industrial processes. This moment marked the recognition of a path built with work, tradition and trust.
2007
Recognition that inspires
Bentec’s excellence crossed regional borders and received national recognition. The brand was awarded the National Retail Merit in the Kitchen and Custom Furniture segments, reflecting the care with every detail, the high quality standards, the constant dedication of the entire team, and the trust built with partners, customers, and suppliers over the years.
2010
Bentec’s national presence
Bentec’s presence expanded in a solid and strategic throughout Brazil. With stores in several cities, the brand continuously strengthened its network of relationships with customers and partners. Each store represents a connection point between original design, personalized service, and the essence of the brand: affectionate, elegant, inspiring, and always close to people.
2015
Efficiency with identity
Bentec raised the level of customization, with production made piece by piece. The designer gained total autonomy (millimeter by millimeter) to create whatever they imagined. Technology aligned with handcrafted work, allowing creative freedom. It is the balance between scale and exclusivity that reinforces the brand’s commitment to those who want a home that truly reflects who they are.
2017
Be: lightness, function, and style
Be Intelligent Furniture was launched, with a light, versatile, and affordable proposal. With a contemporary look, the new brand offered creative solutions that was easy to install and excellent cost-benefit, without sacrificing exclusive design. Be was born to follow new lifestyles, combining practicality, functionality, and personality in each environment, with furniture that adapts to you.
2021
Reinvention with purpose
Amid the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Bentec reinvented itself with resilience, responsibility, and strategic vision. It was a time of listening, adaptation, and caring for people that reaffirmed values and strengthened bonds. This movement inspired a new positioning: “Your home is our home,” which began guiding how the brand communicates and relates, creating welcoming spaces.
2023
Between technology and the human touch
Advances in production and process improvements made operations more efficient. This year, Bentec expanded its manufacturing plant to 32,000 m² and opened its factory store in Bento Gonçalves-RS, with a new positioning and boutique concept, allowing consumers to experience each environment uniquely. The space reflects trends from international shows, applied with local textures connected to the brand’s history.
2025
New brand, same essence
About to turn 50 years old, the change in visual identity aligns with a new moment in Bentec’s history. The brand repositions itself, valuing the union of handcrafted work and technology, Italian design, and Brazilian soul. With communication that is closer, confident, and sensitive, Bentec reinforces what it has always believed: creating furniture that connects people, stories, and meaning.
